Information & Facilities

The School has excellent, well-maintained and up-to-date facilities. The site occupies a prime position on the A565 from Liverpool to Southport, just 1/2 a mile south of Crosby Village centre.

The Main Building, with the famous clock tower visible from the A565, was built in the 1870s, when the Boys' School moved out of the original site - which has subsequently become the Girls' School.

Over the years, the School has been expanded, and now has state-of-the-art facilities for all the subjects. Over recent years, much refurbishment has taken place, making laboratories fulfil modern needs and conform to modern standards; the computer network, and the library provide excellent facilities for the boys.

In November 2008 the school received planning permission for a sports complex to be built on the site of the Boys' School for use by the whole family of Merchant Taylors' Schools. The complex will incorporate a sports hall suitable for indoor sports, a dance studio, refreshments areas and classrooms and is due to be completed in 2010/11.

This last summer, the Sixth Form Centre has been revamped to provide senior pupils with more space and facilities for private study. The main boys' toilets have been completely refurbished - following much canvassing by the School Council.
